To English Speaking Readers

I am the author of a number of books, among them "Mörkläggning - statsmakten och Palmemordet" ("Blackout - the Government and the Palme Murder"). It is one of the most well known works on the 1986 assassination of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme.

Recently, in September 2010, I have published a second book on the same subject, "Mordgåtan Olof Palme" ("Olof Palme - a Murder Mystery").

The case is still unsolved. The main theme of my books is the serious errors committed by Swedish political and legal authorities regarding the investigation of the murder.

The victim was a controversial politician who had powerful opponents both in Sweden and internationally. But from the the very beginning of the investigation the police steered clear of all potentially embarrasing and sensitive leads. Thus, the story of the investigation is to a large extent a story of a non-investigation and not the real thing.

The first years the police concentrated on pinning the murder on Kurds belonging to a left-wing political party, the PKK. Nowadays, however, there is general agreement that these suspicions were completely unfounded. In the summer of 1989 a drug addict with a criminal record, Christer Pettersson, was tried for the murder. The local court of Stockholm declared Pettersson guilty by majority vote, but a higher court unanimously reversed the decision. Still, Pettersson has been the favorite suspect of the police since then. He died in 2004.

Other theories receiving media attention have been that the murder was organized by right-wing members of the Swedish Police, that it was connected to illegal Swedish arms deals or that it was ordered by the South African apartheid regime, the Chilean government, different forces in the Middle East or the CIA.

My first book on the case book was published in February, 1997. It was well treated by the reviewers, and the following year it was awarded "Guldspaden" (The Golden Shovel), a prize for investigative journalism.

In my second book I thoroughly explain why Christer Pettersson is improbable as the killer of Olof Palme. Not only was the murder totally out of Pettersson's style as a criminal. More importantly, pure logistics doesn't rhyme with the police scenario that places him in the role as the culprit.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions regarding my book or if you wish to contact me in relation to the Palme investigation in general. Please click here.

I have also written a number of non-fiction books on subjects as espionage, fraud, political scandals and famous escapes. As yet none of my books are available in English.
